The thin and tiny technology groupies have found their new messiah in the MacBook Air. Marketed by Apple as “Thinnovation”, the almost anorexic notebook tapers down to 0.16 inches, making existing notebooks look downright chunky. I wonder how they get it down to that size; by elimination of course. Well let us see, according to Apple, the MacBook Air has all the ports “your really need”. What do they deem necessary; one USB port, one headphone jack, and one micro-DVI port.
Despite this purging of parts, Apple believes its 2GB of RAM and built in webcam more than make up for the limited ports of this machine. Also incorporated into the super slim design is an oversized trackpad allowing you to pinch, pan, and rotate all with two fingers. Equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the MacBook Air was created to “take full advantage of the wireless world,” good luck trying to burn a CD though.
For those of you who fantasize of a computer you could digest, the MacBook Air is really for you. It was designed for the iPod generation, but the new technology comes with a sizable $1,799 price tag. You really have to ask yourself, is it worth it? Not only must you maintain a PC or larger notebook if you want to burn CDs, or do anything not compatible with Air’s three port design, but how feasible is a notebook as thin as a greeting card?

I think it is very feasable technology for travel purposes and school as well. Especially if you are just using it as a secondary notebook. It serves all the purposes of a PDA and it is so light weighted it can easily be carried around campus along with the heavy books.
One less heavier thing to carry.
Great job by Apple Productions.
