Ah, time to settle down and surf YouTube for my favorite TV shows. Finally, I find my favorite show, only to see the horrible heart breaking message that this video has been removed. Why oh why do these networks want us to suffer? Simple, these recordings of the shows remove the advertisements that make the network money. Well now there is a solution.
A new website called Hulu promises new episodes of network television shows the morning after their premiers. How can Hulu do this? Well, it is owned in part by NBC and FOX, allowing it access to new episodes without the network executives getting all uppity. Hulu allows you to search by series, making it easy to find the episode of House or Heroes that you want to see. Oh yeah, and Hulu offers all of this for free. That is right, no Netflix-like membership fees or pay per click fees on Hulu. Instead you watch what you would normally watch on a network, small commercials. My favorite part about Hulu though, is that the commercials are much shorter than their network counterparts giving you more TV and less advertisements.
This new service is wonderful, and will no doubt be in my bookmarks for a long while. Hulu goes live in the United States March 12th, but you can still watch episodes before the big blast off. While currently Hulu only has FOX and NBC programming, Hulu says that episodes from the WB will soon be appearing, and other networks will follow.
