The New News: Delta Airlines and Northwest Airlines have just announced their merger. 2008, the year of the mergers it seems, has combined satellite radio giants Sirius and XM, and now has created the super airline of Delta and Northwest. The two will now be operating under the name Delta and will be based out of Atlanta. Many wonder if this will lead to an even higher increase in airline fares, especially with other airlines possibly searching out mergers of their own. Continental and United Airlines have both expressed interest in mergers.
The Updates:
- A Night of Too Many Stars was a wonderful success, with audience members donating anywhere from $50,000 to $50. The comedians and music numbers were great and comical; some of the subject matter though is not all together suitable for children. The money raised will go towards expanding Autism programs and training Autism teachers.
- The Florida Beating perpetrators have been assigned bond. The Dr. Phil show was originally slated to cover the story of the eight teens, but after it was discovered that a member of the Dr. Phil show bailed out one of the teens, the show was canceled.
- The Squirrel Man, Dave Csaky, has adjusted to his life in his new RV, with more and more reporters at his door every day. He still does not have a parking space for his RV. If you wish to donate to Csaky, or know of a place to park his RV, should contact Janet Yoder at jlyoder@aol.com or send contributions in David’s name to Lake Union Mail, 117 E. Louisa St., Seattle 98102.
