Border Project 28

Project 28, an enigmatic name for a relatively simple project. Project 28 is really a straightforward task, constructing the fence between Mexico and the southwest United States. Previous attempts have included the mish-mash of metal and wood fencing built by cities, towns, and the Minutemen Patrols, but the United States government has decided to take it one step further. In a $20 million deal with Boeing, the government has invested in a complex system of surveillance towers, cameras, and sensors that will allow our borders to be secured with few on-site guards.

Basically the system will allow for border control to be outsourced from the physical border to a control room miles away. Sadly, the system has been nothing but a source of problems since its beginning. Boeing’s technology is slightly sketchy, with it failing during testing and it being late for its final delivery, but Boeing and the government are confident that Project 28 will work.
