The Good: In an interesting stunt by vegans and vegetarians, a group of vegetables paraded through the meatpacking district in New York today. The parade was inspired by a Parisian demonstration in 2005 that promoted the ethical treatment of animals, and outshined many expectations. The most breathtaking part of the parade had to be the marriage of Miss Penelo Pea Pod and Mr. Chris P. Carrot. It was a wonderful, beautiful parade an I hope it will inspire all of you to give peas a chance.
The Bad: While this is bad news, it is also highly amusing. The yearbook of McKinney High School in Texas was a little distorted this year. The heads of thirty students were stretched, doctored, and/or on the wrong bodies in the Lifetouch yearbook after a Lifetouch employee took it upon himself to get back at the high school.
McKinney High School administrators had wanted all students to look uniform, so they required Lifetouch to make sure every head was the same size and all eyes were on the same level. One Lifetouch employee took it as his cue to doctor the photos, disappointing many seniors. Lifetouch has appoligized and will reprint the yearbooks for free. It all makes me wonder though, isn’t this kind of the school’s doing? We don’t all look alike, why try to make us all the same size.
