Our positive note for the day: Recent research has shown that brain cell transplants to patients with Parkinson’s disease can survive for a decade or more. This research shows that there is hope for slowing or delaying the progression of Parkinson’s disease. This is a major leap forward in the research of this detrimental disease that causes tremors, impaired movement and balance problems.
Now on to the troubled discourses of paid officials. Formula One (F1) car racing is a sport enjoyed worldwide. The drivers who race come from every corner of the world and navigate twisting and turning paths (not the tired oval of NASCAR) of an F1 course for hours. Well Formula One racing now has its own scandal all at the hands of Max Mosley, La Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile’s (FiA) President. Mr. Mosley was caught on tape by a British tabloid (how they got this on tape is anyone’s guess) while participating in an orgy with five prostitutes. To make matters even worse, there is suspicion that he participated in Nazi role-playing while with the women. Currently it is not known if Mr. Mosley will retain his position as President of the FiA, but he has already been asked to not attend upcoming F1 events.
It seems like sexual misconduct stories are appearing more and more in the news. This case seems to be increasingly damning for the participant. The fact that there is suspicion of anti-Semitic behavior makes it even worse and makes Mr. Mosley someone that no one will want to be associated with. Before I can condemn him for the anti-Semitism though, I will have to see more proof. The video from The News of the World only shows him speaking in German to a woman in a prison outfit, he doesn’t seem to have any really Nazi signs on him. For the first time in my life I find myself wishing that this is just a Guantanamo fantasy.
